Experience:
As a child growing up on the Southwest Side of Chicago, I was always particularly fond of math word problems. I enjoyed mapping out possible solutions. During high school, I had the opportunity to take an accounting course and I was immediately hooked. Accounting issues are like math word problems, except without one specific answer and with more gray areas. I was first exposed to accounting’s relationship with legal issues in college while enrolled in advanced tax classes. After this newfound discovery, I pursued law school to combine my two passions into a career. As an attorney – Certified Public Accountant for more than three decades, I have had the privilege of working side-by-side with a wide array of entrepreneurs who understand that in order to start and grow a successful business, they must employ trusted advisors. Proudly, I assist in making their visions a reality.
First and foremost, I advocate for my clients by tailoring to their specific needs regarding contracts, estate planning, succession planning, and more. Where the legal and financial realms intersect is where you will always find me. My clients utilize me to establish their businesses, enabling them to grow with meaningful contracts to protect their talent and trade secrets. I handle forensic investigations to regain converted funds. I assist my clients with acquiring companies and, when the time is right, selling their company, so they can enjoy life’s next chapter.
